Bit of a nervous smile as my son gives some of the Dexters their lick bucket, but the delight of seeing up close can’t be beaten. Sometimes they need this Magnesium lick which reduces the chances of them getting the staggers around calving caused by magnesium deficiency. It’s the only addition they get internally and they love it. Staggers can be fatal and is a concern especially around calving. These cattle aren’t wild as such but they aren’t tame either so caution around them is a healthy trait. Both of these cows that will come to the bucket like this used to belong to a farmer which bred for showing the cattle and so would have been halter trained at one point. #dextercattle#dexterbeef
