A funny sort of day. Started off at the local auction for their yearly rate breed sale. I picked up a couple of good in-calf pedigree heifers and a cow and bull calf with great breeding that could be a good replacement bull for me. Sammy picked up a prize winning heifer with the proceeds from his pork sales. With the new purchases safely installed it was on to Anfield for a great game (3-1). Lastly we had a call on the way back that one of our young stock was down and wouldn’t get up. The vet met us at the field and the initial prognosis wasn’t good, some painkillers and fluids later and he’s a fighting chance of getting through the night.
